Hello everyone who is passionate about singing, especially the classical music genre!

Also, greetings to those who want to learn how to play the piano, beginners, or advanced.

I graduated from Hull University gaining a 2:1 degree with honors specialising in classical voice. There is also Narva Music School and Tallinn Georg Ots Music School in Estonia under my belt where I studied classical piano as my 1st instrument and popular piano as my 2nd choice.

My lessons will do for those who are interested in classical voice training, as well as singers of other genres. It is my deep conviction that it is opera/ classical singing that unlocks the potential of your voice. Having mastered the techniques of bel canto, you can create whatever you want with your voice, including singing jazz and pop music.

During my studies, when the world of opera and musical theatre opened its doors, I began to actively participate in opera and operetta productions, festivals, and concerts organised by the music and drama department. After graduation, I continued to participate in Opera 17 group, Hull Savoyards Operatic Society, and Hull Minster Choir. In addition to singing, I worked as an accompanist in New County Choir, Priory Park Singers Choir, and as a pianist in Hull Unitarian Church. I was also fortunate enough to temporarily work with Hull Minster Children’s Choir, assisting the music director.

At the moment I work as a peripatetic music teacher in a studio, at St Mary’s college, as well as privately. I am also an accompanist in Hull Savoyards Operatic society, as well as in New County choir under the direction of Stan Kell. My most recent performances include taking part in a Chinese Whispers concert as a mezzo-soprano in a trio with piano and violin. I also decided to try myself in another genre and just recently got back from a tour with our indie folk band Goodnight Vincent, where I play keyboards and sing.

Here are some of my earlier performances and awards:

  • Hull University Student Showcase I (solo singer with Hull University Camerata Orchestra)- Hull University Middleton Hall
  • Debussy in Memoriam concert (performing a solo) – Hull University Middleton Hall

  • Dido and Aeneas with Hull University Drama and Music Department; as a part of a chorus
  • North Atlantic flux Festival – as a part of The Hull Choir with international composer Jobina Tinnemens and Jakob Tekila

I try to take a holistic approach during my lessons. At the moment, after taking a short break from concerts and performances as a young mother, I continue to give private music lessons to adults and children. When it comes to children, I use a holistic teaching approach. My students also study ear training (solfege) and music theory. As a graduate of Narva School of Music, which is based on the teaching methodology of The St. Petersburg State Conservatory, I consider an integrated approach to teaching necessary. We also participate in local talent competitions with my students.

My piano lessons usually include several techniques such as sight-reading, playing by ear, and some improvisation. This approach gives students the freedom and opportunity to become an all-rounded musician, performing different music. But if you want to focus on the classical repertoire or prepare for exams, I can help you with this.
